The museum depicts the lifestyles of Tangier Island, the Chesapeake Bay, and its heritage. Amazing to those who visit is the deep sense of pride and the extreme high rate of military personnel who has served our country in wars dating back to 1812.

Other historical attributes is the fact that here on Tangier Island is where the development of the statin drugs as we know today that combats chlorestrol began with two children who lived on Tangier.
